WDB Composition
| The Lower Savannah Workforce Development Board, or LSWDB, is comprised of thirty (30) members, representing Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties. Fifty-one percent (51%) of the members are from the Private Sector category. Fifteen percent (15%) of the members are from the Organized Labor and Community-Based Organizations. The remaining thirty-four (34%) of members are made up of one representaive from Public Employment Service, Higher Education, Economic Development, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Public Welfare Service. |

We are always interested in receiving nominations to serve on our Board. If you live and work in one of the six counties we serve, represent one of the categories listed above, and interested in becoming a WDB Member, please print the appropriate form below, complete it, have the appropriate Nominating Agency sign it, and return it to Jerry Beck at the address provided on the form.

WDB Responsibility
It shall be the responsibility of the LSWDB to provide policy guidance for, and exercise oversight with respect to activities under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) or its service delivery area in partnership with the unit or units of general local government within the service delivery area.
The LSWDB shall determine procedures for the development of the plan. It shall be the responsibility of the WDB to select and review proposals submitted for services, assist with development of program designs, etc.

WDB Meetings for PY 2010
WDB Meetings are held every other month, totaling six (6) meetings per program year (July 1st through June 30th). WDB meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every other month, or as outlined in the Meeting Schedule.
